  1. Back when I was young things were a little less complicated. If you wanted to listen to your favorite song, you simply turned on the radio and waited for the D.J. to play it. If you were out with your friends at the movies and were going to be a little late, you walked to the closest pay-phone and paid a quarter to call home to let your parents know. And if you were feeling a little bored on the weekend, all you had to do was grab your B.B. gun and a few buddies and head into the woods. I remember the first time I saw my first Airsoft gun. A couple of local kids were out in the parking lot of the apartment complex next door having a good old time playing an old favorite, "Cops and Robbers." I don't think they still called it that, but the concept was the same. I remember thinking to myself, .."Man, one of those guys are gonna really get pi**ed when someone actually hits them with one of those B.B.'s!" It was one thing playing that game back in the day when your most powerful gun only put out 350fps, but I could tell just by looking at them that what these boys had in their hands were no Daisy's. Curiosity got the better of me and I just had to see what kind of guns these kids were playing with. There was no confusing them with paintball guns, and I knew they weren't real, but the last "modern" B.B. gun I had seen was surely too powerful to be playing around with so casually. I could tell you from experience that even from an old Daisy, B.B.'s hurt! But these guys were laughing and having a great time. When I first approached them I could tell that they thought I was going to yell at them for playing with real guns or something, but I soon convinced them that all was good and that I just wanted to see what they were playing with. The first one handed to me was a plastic spring fired single shot M4 probably made by Cyma. The next two were a couple of clear 9mm look alikes. They explained to me that they were Airsoft guns and that they fired these plastic little pellets that didn't really hurt at all if you got hit by one. .."Cool!" I said as I thought to myself. .."I don't care if I'm not a kid anymore. I've got to get myself one of those!" Needless to say, I've had a few of these neat little toys over the years since then. But pretty much gave it up when a few friends of mine were out playing ourselves and the cops showed up. That is until I discovered the little beauty I have now. It's one of those KWC 100th anniversary Colt 1911A1's. Now don't get me wrong, I finally do understand all the fun one can have shooting plastic B.B.'s, but for some reason the same thing kept nagging at me. .."How come they don't shoot metal B.B.'s out of these things?" "I mean it's not like the CO2 guns aren't powerful enough." Looking around I soon found out they do. ....Sort of. I soon that Airsoft guns shoot a plastic B.B. that is advertised as being 6mm. After a bit of searching on eBay, I also learned that they do sell these in metal. BUT they don't work! They're too big. And nowhere could I find anything about this. Everyone involved with Airsoft is more than happy with their plastic ammo. So happy in fact that they even discuss the merits of B.B. weight, smoothness of the rounds, and what ammo cycles better than others. This was amazing to me. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why someone hadn't figured out how to put a hard metal B.B. into one of these new powerful guns and really got down to business. I finally resigned myself to believing that most Airsoft users are kids who didn't really think like that, and the older ones who did probably ran into the same problem I had and just left it at that. Well I ain't one of those kids. After a bit of detective work, (and a shop with a micrometer in it) I soon discovered that Airsoft pellets don't really measure 6mm's. They're actually about 5.8 mm's to 5.9mm. It didn't take me long to figure out where to get something that just might work. Bicycle bearings! If I remembered correctly, they made bicycle bearings in that size. Sure enough! They did! So I bought some. How did they shoot? Well, with a good CO2 they shoot just fine. They cycle through my gun with no problem and deliver a heavy THWACK! If anyone here wants to discuss shooting metal B.B.'s through their Airsoft guns, I welcome your replies. Personally, I think it's the s**t!
  2. Hello. My name is Sturm. I think I've been a member for some time, but due to difficulties logging on, this is my first post. Anyway, I own an Inokatsu 100th Anniversary M1911A1 pistol. I really do like it, contrary to what many people say about it. However, it does have one or two problems which, although in my case are not 'critical,' can be quite annoying nevertheless. One of these is regarding the pistol's slide stop. The slide stop always pushes itself out a bit when the gun is fired, even if fired whilst empty. It does not push itself out that much, and after going out a little bit, it will not go out any further with subsequent shots. However, I know this issue is related to the slide stop. I tested a Nova slide stop, and it has no such behaviour when installed on the pistol. The problem with the latter is that the finish on it is a medium grey (Despite being labelled as 'Steel Black') and does not fit very well with the rest of the gun (Which is Parkerised on the slide and frame, and blued on all of the small parts). So basically, I would either need to buy another slide stop that matches the blued finish of the Inokatsu piece, and also make sure it does not push out as the Inokatsu tends to do, or I could somehow fix the Inokatsu slide stop - which I do not know how to do. If anyone can give me suggestions on how I could get the default slide stop to quit loosening up and pushing out erratically, I would be very happy. The Inokatsu slide stop is a good fit - mostly. I have noticed that the move-out behaviour is not present when the slide stop is placed in the empty frame of the pistol, but with the slide and barrel and hop up and all of that stuff assembled, it starts right back up again. There is one video on YouTube that describes and demonstrates this exact problem (Although I am not sure if I'm allowed to post links). If someone could link or point out an alternative slide stop that is obviously steel, checkered, and has a dark-blued finish, that would be a good course of action as well.
  3. As the title states, I'm looking to buy a full steel Dboys Ak. Preferably the Ak74u. But I am open to other models. My budget is between $0-$130. I'm in need of mainly the externals, So broken internals are okay. Cheers-Clayton

  5. Hello up for sale is a KWA M11A1 airsoft NS2 SMG. This airsoft fires good and true as if new. This package includes the following: -KWA M11A1 NS2 w/ manual -2 Magazines -UTG Drop Leg holster -CNC Polar Star mock suppressor -Installed G&P upper kit -Spare KWA parts The installed G&P kit includes a steel stock with authentic Cobray trademark, steel threaded flash hider, steel upper receiver and rubber grip. The spare KWA parts are pretty much the same but original KWA versions...a metal threaded flash hider, plastic w/ metal lining upper receiver, hard plastic grip and metal stock. The entire package is in very good condition with only minor flaws. Those flaws include a crack around the rear sight, which is common due to the blowback. (pictured) It won't get any bigger and I already cemented it just in case anyhow. There is also a tiny crack by the front pin which I did on accident trying to install that said pin. These flaws do not hurt the functionality nor longevity of this gun at all, it will last for years, this is my third one. I always find myself quitting airsoft then getting back in! If this bothers you, the original KSC frames are available almost anywhere for replacement, just ask me and I'll show you where and how to install it. Anyhow, the kit I installed fixes all of of problems that came default out of the box. Normally the flash hider would wobble with a barrel extension on, now it doesn't due to the tension pin. The stock is much more reliable and sturdy for those full-auto moments. The grip is now actually rubber which feels great in comparison with the default plastic one. And it goes without saying how realistic it feels altogether and you don't even have to do the intense work it takes to install that steel upper receiver. Also, the Polar Star mock suppressor is the best one out there, which is also discontinued, so getting it here with the airsoft is truly a rare moment. This package is lubed and ready to go right out of the box, guaranteed. Anyhow, thanks for reading my novel of a description, but if I don't give proper detail, that would be deceit! Feel free to ask anything you like. Thanks! -E I am asking $250 OBO shipped. As for trades/partial trades I am looking for only GBB/GBBR related guns. To ASF members: This is my first time on here in a very long time, just getting back into airsoft, so please forgive me if I forgot some of the forum rules.
  6. I can't find anything about this on the internet, so has anyone ever tried shooting 6mm steel bbs (slingshot ammo) with a high powered airsoft gun? If so what kind of fps would it give? I've heard that with an airsoft sniper rifle upgraded to the max, it gan give 800 fps with 0.2g bbs, That would be around 500 fps with 0.43g bbs. I heard somewhere that 0.88g steel ammo would give 250 fps, but I need to hear from someone who has actually tried this.
