Which Sight Should I Get?

Recommended Posts

I have a Classic Army P90 w/ built in rds and I want to get a Rail Upper Receiver so I can attach a sight to it. Which 1 should I get? I know they're $30 apart but apart from the Holographic one having 2 colors, whats the major difference? Also I was thinking about how easy it was to aim because the Holographic one looks like the glass is really small and hard to see through. Here are the 2:

Holo: http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=28462

Red Dot: http://www.giwarehouse.com/product_info.php?products_id=1043

and here is Rail Receiver: http://www.giwarehouse.com/product_info.php?products_id=4649

or if none of those sights are the best for P90, then list which sights you think are.

I prefer "tube-type" red dots myself, as they work very well in sunny weather. I bought an eotech clone holosight, and it's almost useless in sunny weather, almost impossible to see the dot. My red dots are basic, cheap Bull Strike red dots, they get the job done and are pretty sturdy. A similar red dot from a different manufacturer should also be good.

I actually think the size of the glass is actually fairly similar for both. You can't quite judge the size from those product pictures alone because they won't be the same scale to each other in those pictures.

Also, (referring to the similar thread you created) the NCStar sight glass may appear angled but that doesn't affect anything, you still look through it straight.

I personally would like using EOTech replicas instead because of the easy brightness adjustment (push of a button instead of twisting the dial) and selectable color. However, other optics may have the same feature, but the exact NC Starone you linked happens to only have red color available. Also, changing the battery is nice on the EOTech replicas because no tools are required, so there's no screws to strip. On the NC Star one, and other optics similar to it, there's always a chance that you may end up stripping the battery cover cap because it needs to be screwed on and off with an extremely large flathead tool in a very shallow slit.

if your using p90 I'd go with the mini red dot, so that it is not sitting up too high on rail and you won't have to adjust the sight that much
