G&G TR16 R4 Commando Upgrade

Recommended Posts

I just bought this gun and want to shoot .28 bb's so I figured if I upgrade the spring it would shoot straighter and with a longer range. Is this correct?

Do I need to upgrade anything else on this gun if I upgrade the spring? Thinking about a G&G M130-140 spring.

Do you think .28 would shoot better than a .25 bb?

No you wouldn't NEED to upgrade anything. It would shoot .28s just fine, which are an improvement over .25s. If you want the best range and accuracy, I would suggest upgrading the barrel to a tightbore and replacing the hop up bucking. Only after these upgrades would I suggest upgrading the spring.

Simply using a stronger spring will not necessarily increase your accuracy and range, more emphasis on accuracy/effective range. You would need to work on other things like changing the hop-up bucking and nub and possibly switching to a better inner barrel for increasing accuracy/effective range, regardless of your gun's muzzle velocity.

For using an M130-M140 spring, you likely will need to replace the stock motor. I think almost everyone has reported that the stock motor will struggle with a spring stronger than M120.
