Are Greenbelts legal to play in?

Recommended Posts

I want to host an airsoft war in a greenbelt right next to my house. Is it legal to play in Greenbelts? I really don't want the cops to bust me... It's about 60 feet from any houses and is wooded all around, so a bb couldn't sail into a neighbors window. I plan to use biodegradable bbs, so is it with in the law? I live in Seattle.

It's illegal to play somewhere that you do not own, or have specific permission (preferably in writing) to play on. Anywhere that is within public view is never a good idea to play at...

I think that he means "grain belt"

And if I were the owner of the field I would be really upset to find some kids out playing in my money.

You need to get a hold of the land owner, and the local law enforcement agency.

Please don't be "that guy" and ruin things for your area.

The term “greenbelt” refers to any area of undeveloped natural land that has been set aside near urban or developed land to provide open space, offer light recreational opportunities or contain development.

So he is probably refering to greenbelts not grain belts...

Seattle is full of tree hugging liberals, so chances are that airsoft is illegal inside city limits. And greenbelts are usually a bad palce to play simply because it would be difficult to define the play area and restrict non-players from entering.

Best bet is to make friends with someone who lives across the Sound or see if there are places to play up north by Bellingham.
