Best mp5 AEG ?

Recommended Posts

Hey there, im currently looking for an mp5 with top notch quality (no plastic). I really want material that wont break so easily. I want the inner parts to be very well made. Though im not looking for a normal mp5. Im looking for an mp5 which is not only good at close quarters but can work as good in medium distances. Me and my friends usually play in the woods or in ruined castles. I usually flank the opposite team and come from behind or their sides. Therefor the mp5. But since its the woods I will impossibly be able to avoid long range contact from time to time.

SUMMARY OF WHAT IM LOOKING FOR IN THE WEAPON

1. GOOD QUALITY

2. Good precision (I will most likely change the barrel for the weapon for a longer one so the precision is increased)

3. FPS 400+

4. BUDGET = 300-400 dollars

Here's a link on the webbsite I'd very much like to buy a weapon. There are many ICS mp5:s and I was hoping you guys could point out which of these guns you'd say is ''best''.

keep in mind 2000kr = 312 US dollars. SO a weapon up to 3000kr is acceptable.. though im not sure 3000 is neccesary.

Hey guys, so I recently made a post, but it seems no-one wants to respond.. so I'll make a thread which is a bit more specific. So im looking for a VERY good quality mp5 for around 250-350 dollars. Im currently looking at these three!

As you can see the mp5 from ''vapenbutiken'' is manufactured by ICS which I've heard are very good manufacturers.. Problem is... There are 0 details about the gun, FPS? Weight and more.....

Im looking for a gun that has 400+ FPS and im probably gonna fit a silencer onto it. But I've heard the SD mp5's silencer is only for the looks, it doesnt actually do anything?

So what do you guys think?

This could also be an option!

If I remember correctly ics uses split gearboxe's which can give you a headache

400+ FPS ? If your thinking that fps give you bigger range , nope they don't ( you can search for a more details "airsoft fps is overrated" )

Silencer never did anything in airsoft. They are for hiding longer inner barrels and giving more tactical looks ( example g36c 247mm with silencer I can put a 363mm)

If I were you I would the take the cyma one. I heard good things about it ( you can always use google write the brand and gun name and search for reviews)

I do like to recommend a CYMA MP5 because the parts are more standard. If your gun uses more standard parts, it is easier to repair or upgrade after some time.

Also, I merged your two threads together.

Well the CYMA branded ones are actually very good. I am partial to my TM mp5 which is for sale if you are interested. I own several ICS MP5s, but have not personally owned a CYMA. I have a close buddy who had one and I must say it was relatively impressive.

The silencer is entirely for looks in this case. Most of the noise is based in the function of the mechbox inside the gun. This can be greatly reduced however.

Also in your links it appears that there is specs present. As for the FPS out of the box you can expect ~350fps. The CYMAs can vary rather widely, but will more likely be in the 400fps range.

Also, the external build is extremely solid as well, as it can endure many HK slaps

I would still not recommend doing that for any airsoft gun, whether it's an AEG or GBB. Just rack the charging handle normally to prolong it's life.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but isn't the CYMA MP5 line discontinued? I've been trying to find one. And I don't know any friends selling or any local shops that have it in stock anymore.

I wouldn't say it's discontinued, but it's not easily available in any US retailers due to licensing restrictions of Umarex. US retailers can only continue to stock Umarex licensed Hk style replicas. You could try to order overseas but you'd risk it being seized by customs or something, especially if it's now an "unlicensed" item.

One workaround is the licensed GSG-522 replica which appears to be OEM by CYMA, though that looks different than a typical MP5K...

You don't really need 1.5+ joules to have decent range, and a longer barrel won't necessarily improve range, and can even hurt accuracy. My custom tuned CYMA MP5K can easily hit an opponent beyond 150 feet, with a stock length barrel (140mm TM MP5K barrel), while still being fully CQB legal at .9 joules. It's :censored2: that short barreled airsoft guns can't have good range, it's all about tuning, parts quality and BB quality. You should look less at muzzle velocity and more at actual quality. If you want to keep it stock, then an ICS or TM MP5 are good choices, if you plan on upgrading it, then CYMA is a good choice.
