Looking to get back after about 5 years, Hows classic army these days?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. So back in high school I was really into the game. the last gun I had was a full metal g&g m4. I think it was before the blow back model or it was the orginal blow back. Then new classic armys look impressive from my old knowledge

It has a mosfet and tbb already which is nice. Am I right to assume the battery and charger are a joke?

Other options

ICS, don't really wanna spend the much, if memory serves Ics is good stuff

G&G, I had used there old metal stuff and liked it. I don't think I ever owned a combat machine. But I did have one of the old Plastica sport lines and loved it.

I don't really care if it looks super tactical or not like the CA

thanks in advance

What you are describing is old school tooling. Twist off barrels no longer exist. You can however add barrel length to an AEG by using extensions.

CA has never been "good" and now they are worse. Remember, this is Airsoft. TBB and MOSFET means nothing if the mosfet fries itself on a HO 9.6V battery and a TBB is worthless if the finish on the inside is terrible.

Look for details and not just specs.

As for the $250.00 price range...in an AR...your in the gray area. Spend 70.00 more and you can get some really nice AEG's. Spend 70.00 less and you can get some nice starter AEG's.

ICS hit their pinnacle at Good. Right now they are rather lost in gaining more market share.

G&G has the entry level down solid, their "High Quality" items are okay, but are not in your price point.

I would look for a used High End Krytac or G&P for 250.00

Well last night at work I got the bad news. The restaurant I cook for is hitting the off season so hours are cut, So my budget just went down. I think my goal now is to get something in the good budget gun section that I can build up later in life when business picks up or I can find some steady side work. Who makes a good sportline? ICS and G&G still top market for that? What ever happen to the kwa sportlines?

Which ever gun I get at this point will be tweaked as time goes and I play more. I was a huge tech back in the day but I can see a TBB and hop up (if need be, prolly just a bucking) and maybe a motor going in (also if need be). So itll more less be a future project gun. How are the metal combat machine body quality? my friend has a combat machine im gonna try out on my day off.

I now need the total price under 250 with battery and smart charger. As much as id like to I cant spend any more at once for this for the foreseeable future

Sorry I keep editing lol

But my fields fps limit is 400. So id like to keep it under that. Im not to worried about the fps so long as its under that.

Sportlines don't exist any more either. ICS...no "sportline" G&G "Sportline" is their Combat Machine Line, which are very solid AEG's.

KWA fell out of the market and they never really had "Sportline" They had Gen 1 and Gen 2, but no designation as "sportline/budget AEG.

Motors took a radical shift when you left. The Neo Magnets with armature tweeks created some monster torque options paired with a good HS gear ration your have a good trigger response even on "normal" voltage batteries. Then the other aspect also went in. Tienly was their first with their High Speed Motors that started at 30,000 RPM on nominal voltage, unlike Lonex which required High Voltage to hit that RPM level. And you can get up to 45,000 RPM.

Case in point this G&P with a Motor Swap on standard ratio gears. Start at the 2:00 Mark That is 25 rps at ~400fps on Nominal voltage.

In your state, I would honestly go used. No need to dump your money on a new AEG, since you will be tinkering any ways...
